Lyrics

The LORD’s word came to me Prophesy against the shepherds of Israel Woe to the shepherds who feed themselves

Should not the shepherds feed the sheep You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool You kill the fat ones but the flock you don’t feed The weak you have not strengthened

The sick you have not healed the broken you have not bound up The strayed you have not brought back The lost you have not sought But with force and cruelty have you ruled them

And my sheep were scattered because there was no shepherd They were scattered on all the surface of the earth And no one searched after them Therefore you shepherds hear the word of the LORD

Behold I am against the shepherds I will require my sheep at their hand I will cause them to cease from feeding the sheep The shepherds will no longer feed themselves

For thus says the Lord God Behold I myself will search for my sheep I will seek them out As a shepherd seeks out his flock

I will deliver them out of all places they have been scattered In the day of clouds and darkness I will bring them out from the peoples Gather them from the countries

I will feed them with good pasture Upon the mountain heights of Israel They will lie down in good grazing land Feed on rich pasture on the mountains

I myself will feed my sheep I will cause them to lie down I will seek the lost Bind up the broken strengthen the weak I will feed them with justice I will make a covenant of peace with them
