Jacob takes his whole household into Egypt, and God meets him at Beersheba with a promise that changes everything: “I will go down with you.” Genesis 46 records the complete family census of Israel - seventy souls - and closes with a father and son reuniting in each other’s arms after more than twenty years apart.
