In that day the LORD will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent Leviathan the crooked serpent And he will kill the dragon that is in the sea
In that day sing to her A vineyard of red wine I the LORD am its keeper I will water it every moment
Lest anyone hurt it I will keep it night and day I have no wrath Would that I had briers and thorns in battle
I would tread on them and burn them together Or let him take hold of my strength That he may make peace with me Yes let him make peace with me
In the days to come Jacob will take root Israel will blossom and bud And they will fill the face of the world with fruit Has he struck him as he struck those who struck him
Or is he killed like the killing of those who are killed by him By measure you will contend with them He takes them away with his rough blast In the day of the east wind
By this therefore the iniquity of Jacob will be purged And this is all the fruit of taking away his sin When he makes all the altar stones as chalk stones beaten in pieces The Asherim and the incense altars will not stand
For the fortified city is solitary a habitation deserted and abandoned Like the wilderness there the calf feeds and there he lies down And consumes its branches
When its boughs are withered they break off The women come and set them on fire For it is a people of no understanding Therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them
