Lyrics

The righteous perish and no one lays it to heart And merciful men are taken away

None considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come He enters into peace they rest in their beds Each one who walks in his uprightness

But draw near here you sons of the sorceress You seed of the adulterer and the harlot Against whom do you jest Against whom do you make a wide mouth and put out the tongue

Are you not children of transgression a seed of falsehood Inflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree Slaying the children in the valleys under the clefts of the rocks

Among the smooth stones of the valley is your portion They are your lot Yes you have poured a drink offering to them And offered a meal offering

On a lofty bed you have set your bed And there you went up to offer sacrifice Behind the door and the doorpost You have set up your remembrance

For you have uncovered yourself to another than me And have gone up to him you have enlarged your bed And made you a covenant with them

You loved their bed where you saw their hand Therefore have you sent your ambassadors far off And have debased yourself even unto Sheol

You are wearied with the length of your way Yet you said not There is no hope but you found new life of your hand Therefore you were not grieved
