Lyrics
The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews That dwelt in the land of Egypt In Migdol and in Tahpanhes And in Noph and in the country of Pathros
Thus says the Lord of Armies the God of Israel You have seen all the evil that I have brought Upon Jerusalem and upon all the cities of Judah And behold this day they are a desolation
Because of the wickedness which they committed To provoke me to anger in that they went To burn incense and to serve other gods Whom they knew not neither you nor your fathers
And I sent to you all my servants the prophets Saying pray do this abominable thing But they hearkened not nor inclined their ears
Therefore all the evil of the Lord came upon them As it is this day Now therefore thus says the Lord God of Armies The God of Israel
Behold I have set my face against you For evil and to cut off all Judah And I will take the remnant of Judah That have set their faces to go into Egypt
And they shall all be consumed In the land of Egypt they shall fall By the sword and by famine they shall be consumed From the least even to the greatest
And all the people of Judah that are in the land Of Egypt will know whose word shall stand Mine or theirs This shall be a sign to you
That I will punish you in this place
