Lyrics

For wrath kills the foolish man And jealousy slays one who is deceived

For I have seen the foolish taking root But suddenly I cursed his habitation For his children are far from safety They are crushed in the gate without a defender

For the hungry eat up his harvest And take it even out of the thorns And the thirsty swallow down their substance Call now, is there anyone who will answer you?

And to which of the holy ones will you turn? For wrath kills the foolish man But he does not know when death is approaching

Call now, is there anyone? Call now, is there anyone? Blessed is the man Whom God corrects

Behold, blessed is the man whom God corrects Therefore don’t despise the chastening of the Almighty For he makes sores and binds them up He wounds and his hands make whole

He will deliver you in six troubles Yes, in seven there shall no evil touch you In famine he will redeem you from death And in war from the power of the sword

Call now, is there anyone? Call now, is there anyone? Blessed is the man whom God corrects Therefore do not despise his chastening

You shall know also that your seed shall be great And your offspring as the grass of the earth You shall come to your grave in a full age Like a shock of grain comes in its season
