Bethlehem Ephrathah, too small among Judah’s clans, is named as the source of a ruler for Israel across this prophecy’s 15 verses of siege, deliverance, and judgment on idols.
Full sung version coming soon.
Lyrics
Now gather yourself in troops, O daughter of troops Siege is laid against us
They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little From you shall come forth to me that is to be ruler
His goings forth are from old, from ancient days Therefore will he give them up until the time That she who travails has brought forth
The remnant of his brethren shall return Unto the children of Israel He shall stand and shall feed his flock In the strength of the LORD
In the majesty of the name of the LORD his God They shall abide, for now shall he be great Unto the ends of the earth He shall be peace
When the Assyrian comes into our land We will raise up seven shepherds and eight princes They shall waste the land of Assyria
The remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples Like dew from the LORD Like showers on the grass
Your hand shall be lifted up on your adversaries All your enemies shall be cut off
