Lyrics
Hear this word which I take up over you A lamentation, O house of Israel
The virgin of Israel has fallen, no one will raise her up She lies forsaken on her land, there is none to raise her up The city that goes out a thousand strong shall have a hundred left
Thus says the LORD to the house of Israel Seek me and you will live
But seek not Bethel, and don’t come to Gilgal Pass not to Beersheba, for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity And Bethel shall come to nothing Seek the LORD and you will live
I hate, I despise your feasts I take no delight in your solemn assemblies Take away from me the noise of your songs
But let justice roll down like waters And righteousness like an ever-flowing stream Seek good and not evil that you may live
The LORD, the God of hosts, will be with you As you have said, you who say, As the LORD lives
Let justice roll down like waters Righteousness like an ever-flowing stream Good shall prevail over evil The righteous shall flourish like the green bay tree
Seek the LORD that you may live For the day of the LORD is near
