Hear this word, you cows of Bashan Who are in the mountain of Samaria
You who oppress the poor, crush the needy And say to your husbands, Bring us wine that we may drink The Lord GOD has sworn by his holiness
Behold, the days come upon you when you shall be taken away I have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities Yet you have not returned to me, says the LORD
I also withheld the rain from you When there were yet three months to the harvest I caused it to rain on one city and not on another
And yet you have not returned to me I struck you with blight and mildew Yet you have not returned to me, says the LORD
I sent amongst you a pestilence like Egypt I slew your young men with the sword Your horses were taken away Yet you have not returned to me
I overthrew some of you as God overthrew Sodom You were like a brand plucked out of the fire Yet you have not returned to me, says the LORD
Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel Prepare to meet your God
