Lyrics

Son of man take a tile Lay it before yourself Portray on it a city even Jerusalem

Lay siege against it Build forts against it Cast up a mound against it Set camps against it and plant battering rams all around Take for yourself an iron pan Set it for a wall of iron between you and the city

Set your face towards it It will be besieged You shall lay siege against it This shall be a sign to the house of Israel

Lie on your left side Bear the iniquity of the house of Israel According to the number of the days that you shall lie on it You shall bear their iniquity Three hundred and ninety days

When you have accomplished these Lie on your right side Bear the iniquity of the house of Judah Forty days each day for a year Set your face towards the siege of Jerusalem

You shall not turn from one side to the other Until you have accomplished the days of your siege Behold I put ropes on you You are bound to the earth

Take wheat and barley, beans and lentils, millet and spelt Put them in one vessel Make bread of it Food by weight, twenty shekels a day Drink water by measure from time to time

The staff of bread will be broken in Jerusalem They will eat bread by weight with fearfulness Drink water by measure in dismay That they may lack bread and water Be dismayed one with another

The sign is set, the judgment coming The prophet bound in the flesh foreshadows Jerusalem’s captivity
