Lyrics
Take a sharp sword Use it as a barber’s razor Cause it to pass over your head and beard Take balances to weigh and divide the hair
A third part you shall burn in the fire In the middle of the city when the days of siege are fulfilled A third part strike with the sword around it A third part scatter to the wind I will draw out a sword after them
Take a small number of these Bind them in the folds of your robe Of these again take and cast them into the fire From it a fire will come out into all the house of Israel
This is Jerusalem I have set her in the middle of the nations Countries are around her She has rebelled against my ordinances More than the nations around her
She has not walked in my statutes Neither kept my ordinances Neither followed the ordinances of the nations around her I am against you I will execute judgments in the sight of the nations
I will do in you that which I have not done Which I will not do anything like it any more Because of all your abominations Therefore fathers will eat the sons within you The sons will eat their fathers
I will execute judgments on you I will scatter the whole remnant of you to all the winds You have defiled my sanctuary With all your detestable things My eye will not spare and I will have no pity
A third part will die with the pestilence A third part will fall by the sword A third part I will scatter to all the winds My anger will be accomplished My wrath towards them will rest
Thus my anger will be accomplished The nations will know that I the LORD have spoken When I have accomplished my wrath on them
