Lyrics
All the children of Israel were gathered together as one man Before the LORD in Mizpah
The children of Israel said, Tell us, how was this wickedness done The Levite, the husband of the woman that was slain, answered and said
We came to Gibeah that belongs to Benjamin, I and my concubine To lodge, and the men of Gibeah rose against me And beset the house round about me by night
They thought to have slain me and my concubine have they forced And she is dead So I took my concubine and divided her into twelve pieces
All the men of Israel rose up and assembled themselves as one man They said, None of us will go to his tent Neither will any of us turn to his house
But now this shall be the thing which we will do to Gibeah We will go up by lot against it And we will take ten men out of every hundred throughout Israel
The children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren The children of Israel smote them with a great slaughter Twenty and five thousand and one hundred men that drew the sword
So the LORD smote Benjamin before Israel And the children of Israel destroyed of Benjamin that day Twenty and five thousand and one hundred men
All these were men of valor And all the men of Benjamin were destroyed
