Ehud was a left-handed judge of Israel whom God raised up to deliver His people from Moabite oppression. He approached King Eglon alone under the pretense of bringing tribute, then killed him and rallied Israel to defeat the Moabites. His act freed Israel and gave the land rest for eighty years.
